Human Trafficking

On 7 December 2020, Tamkeen and hbs launched the study “Under the Microscope: Analysis of Human Trafficking Cases in Jordan”, published in both Arabic and English.

On 11 October 2020, SOWT and Heinrich Böll Foundation Palestine and Jordan conducted an online "Listening Party on Human Trafficking in Jordan". Click to watch a summary of the event, which provides information on the definition of human trafficking and specific cases in Jordan.

The radio program Mahatat Masr focuses on the conditions of Egyptian migrant workers in Jordan, in an effort to give them a platform to express themselves and to try to help them in their struggles. In this article, the author reports on the program and describes the many successes it has achieved.

Amman-based Radio al Balad launched the first show of their new radio program called Mahatat Masr (Egypt Station). According to the motto “By Egyptians for Egyptians”.

During COVID-19, Jordan imposed one of the strictest lockdowns globally.  Egyptian workers residing in the country were hit hard as they have lost their jobs and struggled to make a living ever since, while being stuck in adverse housing conditions and unable to return home.

Hbs is seeking a consultant / production company / radio station to produce and broadcast a radio show in Arabic on the legal and social situation of migrant workers, including their personal stories
