The Heinrich Böll Foundation - Palestine and Jordan (hbs) has close partnerships with more than 20 local organizations in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Jordan. Our partners are committed to the values of human rights, democracy, gender equality and environmental sustainability. Our relationships with partners are based on mutual trust and cooperation that goes beyond an ordinary partner-donor relationship.
We work in three main programs areas: Democracy and Human Rights, Environmental Justice, Policy Analysis & Advocacy. Gender, diversity and human rights are crosscutting issues within all our programs.
Hbs partners carry out various activities including capacity-building workshops, conferences, policy papers, awareness campaigns, advocacy and lobbying, publications, filmmaking and media projects, among others.
Hbs provides financial support, but forms of cooperation do not exclusively mean financial support. Other forms of cooperation may include networking, provision of expertise and exchange of experiences, facilitation, mobilization and call relay etc.
As we do not have a specific call for applications, we accept suggestions/proposals for cooperation year-round. If you would like to propose a project within the scope of one of our programs, please refer to the application procedures below. We advise that you visit the webpages of our programs to check whether your proposed project fits within our subject topics and goals.
How to Apply:
Depending on the nature of your project, initiative, or activities, please submit a concept note/ project proposal in English. You may use this Proposal Form to fill in your proposal. If you choose to use your own proposal template/outline, we recommend checking our Proposal Form to ensure that you have included all the needed information as well as the supporting documents hbs requests in its evaluation of proposals. This would ensure an equal opportunity for all applicants
Kindly note that hbs’ yearly project cycle is from January 1st to October 31st.
