The town of Samou’ in the governorate of Hebron overlooks vast fields of olives trees and vineyards. The village has a long history dating back to the Bronze Age (3000-1200 BC) and contains an abundance of Canaanite ruins from those times that are displayed inside several underground galleries. It is a village rich in history and centuries-old crafts and tradition. Al-Samou’ Association was established in 1975 with the aim of working with the women of Al-Samou’ village to preserve and safeguard traditional Palestinian handicrafts, especially the unique carpet weaving of the south. Over the years, the Association has worked with hundreds of women giving them the opportunity to generate income while working from home.
Their gift shop at the Association offers a vast array of products, all handmade and produced by women of Al-Samou’, with a few modern items, such as Telephone holders and many other home accessories.
